Table Saws for All Levels from Craftsman
Craftsman is a brand name made exclusively for Sears. Wood working tools were added to their line of power tools in 1926. Several companies actual have made the tools for the brand name. You can tell which company made the tool based on the prefix of the model number on the older tools. Craftsman offers several table saws in varying sizes and prices to fit the needs of numerous customers.
1. 10-inch table saw with stand-This is the smallest model Craftsman offers in a table saw. This model has a smaller 13-amp motor. The stand is not portable and is to prevent wobbling. The miter gauge has preset stops for the most common angle cuts. This basic model is priced right for the homeowner who does occasional hobby work at a cost of $120.
2. 10-inch portable table saw-This Craftsman table saw has a collapsible stand with wheels for easy moving from one job site to another. Crosscuts are smooth with a built-in miter gauge on the sliding miter table. Rip cuts can be a 30-inch right or a 7-inch left on the sliding rails. This model has a 15-amp motor, on-board storage, dust port and collection bag, and 1/32 scale for accurate measurements on the rails. This model costs around $270.
3. Professional portable 10-inch table saw-For the professional who has more work to get done, this Craftsman table saw is sturdier for that heavier use. The rip capacity is increased to a 33-inch right and a 30-inch left. This model also has the sliding miter table, but its miter fence is oversized. It has a built-in router table and mounting kit for a later addition of a router if you want that extra. The tabletop with the extensions out is 48"X32". This professional model sells for $450.
4. 10-inch stationary table saw with wooden extension and tilt arbor-Moving up in capacity, Craftsman table saw model #22805 has a large 76"X27" table with the extensions all the way out. Weighing 537 pounds, this model is not meant to be portable, but it is meant to be a heavier duty ripping saw. It comes complete with a miter, rip fence, and tilting arbor. Regular price is $1300.
5. 12-inch stationary table saw with wooden extension and tilt arbor-This model is similar to the previous heavier duty table saw except that it has a 12-inch blade. Two versions are offered for your convenience: one has a left-tilt arbor, and the other has the right-tilt arbor. The tabletop is a little larger than the previous model, stretching out to 81"X30". Of course, as the workload capacity increases so does the price. This model comes in at a regular price of $1600.
Craftsman offers several other table saws that come between these small, medium, and large models. One is sure to meet your workload needs and budget.
