Jet Table Saw Package Review
Jet offers a variety of table's saws but the Jet Table Saw package is a great buy. It comes with a JTAS 3 HP 10" table saw, XLIFT-K router lift, Bosh 1617EVS router, 52" XACTA adjustable fence, table, and legs. You can order it in either a left or right tilt configuration.
When it ships you'll find several boxes arriving at your door. There will be 7 boxes in total to be exact. The saw ships in a box by itself which also has the motor cast wing, and some of the accessories in it. This main box weighs about 400 pounds so don't expect to be dragging it across the floor.
It's really easy to assemble even without the manual which by the way is way too mechanical for the average person. But then again if you aren't mechanically inclined this might not be the right hobby for you anyway.
The fence rails were easy to install and the instructions were very easy to follow. The table and legs install with little problem too. The table is ¾" thick with a melamine finish so make a nice work surface and the frame is oak.
Now remember the saw is 220 so it doesn't come with a plug. You'll have to have an electrician wire it directly into your system. The sheet metal pan directs dust to the 4" dust port which provides ample dust bagging power
The router also installs with little problems and suddenly you find yourself with a terrific setup. For under $2000 you have a great deal of equipment here and if you were to purchase the pieces separately you'd be likely to spend almost double.
The Bosh Router is an added bonus and you don't even have to send a coupon in or apply for it. It comes packaged with your Jet equipment.
If the package deal is just way more than what you are looking for then why not consider the JWCS 10A? This is a hybrid saw that has a superb dust collection system and the motor is neatly tucked inside the cabinet so overall it takes up less room.
The 1 ¾ HP motor is enough for most contractors and it has a thermal overload button. This is a feature seldom seen. You can easily replace the fence faces.
Looking for smaller yet? Then try this Jet. The 10" benchtop has a patent pending construction design with steel corner posts that make it rugged. It has a belt driven transmission, precision rule measurement system, dust collection system, and rear outfeed support. Dollar for dollar in the smaller saws this is a great buy.
No matter which Jet table saw you decide to purchase a quick search online will reveal plenty of options. And buying online can save you a great deal of money. If you are ready to save as much as 50% it's time to let your fingers do the work. So what are you waiting for?
