Wholesale Home Appliances

Appliances are necessary in every home. They make life easier, more comfortable and less complicated, especially if you are living in a city where everything proceeds rapidly. From the moment you wake up in the morning until you go to bed to recharge for another long stressful day, the use of electrical appliances is almost unavoidable. They enable you to prepare your breakfast, get dressed for work, and even watch a movie while you relax on your couch.

Buying the right home appliances is essential. Although prices of home appliances continuously go down as manufacturing processes continue to improve, home appliances are still considered valuables. Since they consume energy, the cost of operating them plus the cost of maintaining and repairing them makes them expensive. However, there?s a solution to that - buying wholesale.

Buying wholesale is the best way for you to get great discounts and, thus, save big on your home appliances. Take, for example, a famous 3.5 cu. ft. top loader washing machine with a long list of special features. Retail stores sell it for a price of $1200 while a wholesale home appliance store sells it for just $890.

There are useful tips to keep in mind while buying wholesale home appliances. First, get as much information as you can about wholesale home appliance markets and prices. Establish connections with wholesale home appliance suppliers and know if they accept buyers from the general public. Next, try to make affiliations with groups that are also interested in buying wholesale and have access to cheap wholesale deals. Look for warehouse stores that sell home appliances at very affordable prices. Finally, acquire a reseller?s license so you can purchase the items at wholesale prices.

Used Home Appliances

Any appliance is designed after taking into consideration the needs of users and the environment in which it is going to be used. Manufacturers of appliances conduct research on the usability of their models based on consumer feedback. They apply the results of such research in developing new models in which the loopholes present in earlier designs are plugged. As new models are launched, it is common for many consumers to replace their existing appliances, which might have become outdated. Used appliances don't necessarily have to be discarded, as there is a significant demand for second hand appliances too. Used home appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, microwave ovens, dishwashers and washing machines are cheaper than new ones because of the depreciation factor.

Before buying a used home appliance, it is essential to check the extent of its usage and reconfirm that it is in working condition. It is always advisable to get a used appliance checked by a technician before purchase.

Some people prefer disposing off used home appliances when they do not get a good offer from buyers. In such situations, the discarded home appliance can be transported to a special factory, where the discarded appliance is split into parts and disposed off. This is usually done in accordance with environmental protection laws. Burning, burying or decontamination can dispose off harmful or poisonous parts. The parts, which are safe to be used, can be assembled as second hand appliances and returned to the market. A number of exporters, suppliers, manufacturers, factories and distributors engage in the business of dealing in used home appliances. In Japan, there is a law that ensures recycling of used home appliances because of the high cost of treating discarded ones to make them environmentally safe.

Used home appliances contain Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC), leaded glass and other hazardous chemicals. It is generally recommended that the clutter in the form of useless second hand appliances should be discarded. Some people prefer to donate used home appliances to religious or social organizations.

Scaled-down appliances - What's Hot

The appliance business is not what it used to be. Not only are new classes of trade, such as warehouse clubs and home centers, getting into the business, but discounters and even home goods specialists are finding new ways to compete as well. Any number of retailers have tested or added appliances, from Zellers to Home Depot to Lowe's. In some cases, this has meant standard appliances, in others it has meant a limited assortment, such as air conditioners.

But there's another side to the appliance story. With the proliferation of non-traditional appliances, such as countertop freezers and mini refrigerators from rising stars like Haier, consumers are quickly warming to the virtues of small, well-built machines instead of the conventional wisdom that bigger is better. Building on this shift in the consumer mindset, Haier recently launched a countertop clothes washer (pictured) using its proprietary new "Hand Wash System," a gentle-wash cycle intended to replicate the delicate qualities of old-fashioned hand washing.

Above and beyond: ordinary appliances get smart

Motorized blinds, choreographed home theaters, whole-house lighting displays... Such are the premium lifestyle amenities we've come to associate with the connected home. Proprietary high-end communications networks from Crestron, AMX, Elan Home Systems, and Vantage Controls have been pampering the luxury homeowner for years, managing everything from lighting to music to security systems via slick keypads or touchscreen panels.

But try to have the system integrator program the microwave oven or the clock radio into the equation, and it's far more trouble--and programming cost--than it's worth. The everyday household appliance has largely been left out of the connected home picture.

That's changing, and the Internet is the enabler. Using standard household wiring and the simple programming powers of the PC, Salton is bringing to market a line of appliances that can tap the powers of the Internet and a home network to bring smart capabilities to everyday appliances.

Salton already sources the Icebox, a high-end entertainment center for the kitchen combining a flat-screen LCD TV, DVD player, radio, and Web browser. Icebox has a video input for a camera to keep tabs on the baby's room or the front door from the kitchen TV. The system comes with a wash-keyboard and a mounting rack that enables the screen to tuck beneath cabinets when not in use. The upscale TV system is sold by systems integrators.

Beyond is the next stage in Salton's vision for the connected home, and it moves the notion of networking to the mainstream. The company's portfolio of brands covers popular names including Toastmaster, George Foreman, Melitta, and Westinghouse, and the latter will carry the additional Beyond logo when four Westinghouse Beyond products ship this summer. The appliances incorporate EasyPlug, a networking technology that uses standard AC wiring to carry voice and data as well as power.

Beyond products communicate with a souped-up clock radio called Home Hub that does double duty as control center of the appliance network. In networking jargon, Home Hub is a residential gateway, although the oval-shaped radio resides on the night table next to the master bed rather than in a utility closet in the basement. The Home Hub communicates with other Beyond devices in the home over the power line and taps into the Internet for simple PC-based programming. The only visual clues that the 8-inch-tall Home Hub isn't a conventional clock radio are the display and the RJ-45 and RJ-11 phone jacks on the back. The system works with dial-up and broadband connections.

Salton's vision is that the Beyond line will change how homeowners use everyday appliances, according to Robert Lamson, senior vice president of Beyond products. The product concept is practical rather than glitzy. "We're not trying to change people's lives," he says. "So many high-tech products fail because they're trying to change people's behavior, or their developers don't understand the value proposition. Our idea is to let people live the same way but better."

Better might include waking up to your favorite CD track before you transition to morning news. You can do that now with a complicated CD radio but you probably can't program it without the owner's manual. With Beyond, you program the clock radio on the Beyond Web site using point-and-click menus that guide you through the process. You can pick one CD track number for Wednesday's alarm, and select a different track for Thursday. Or, you can choose different radio stations for you and your spouse at different times of the morning.

Beyond takes the clock radio well beyond the wake-up call, though. It becomes your first source of information in the morning for personalized news that you've selected to see on the hub's 11-line display, which is about the size of a large personal digital assistant (PDA). When you set up your account you plug in your ZIP code, which determines the weather forecast and local news you receive. The Web site also lists radio stations in your area, making programming almost as simple as clicking on familiar call letters. From the Web site you choose the information that's important to you, such as news headlines, sports scores, weather, and your stock portfolio. Since the Beyond line is built on the Windows CE.Net operating system, the Home Hub will soon also be able to synchronize with Outlook, allowing you to bring up the day's schedule and to-do list, too.

During the middle of the night Home Hub makes a local phone call to Beyond's smart server, identifies itself and gets updated information. It also syncs itself with the U.S. Naval Observatory Atomic Clock in Colorado so that it always has the correct time.

The other Beyond products making their debut this summer include a Westinghouse Beyond-branded microwave oven, bread machine, and coffee maker. When you plug them in, they identify themselves to the Home Hub and are automatically added to the network. Their clocks automatically synchronize with the Home Hub clock. When it's time to jump ahead for daylight-saving time, all appliances on the network set themselves.

It's Faster Than The Speed Of Gas - And More Economical, Too

As society turns to a more environmentally friendly attitude in the face of further global warming issues, a new technology is becoming more and more prominent in a bid to save the planet. The art of induction cooking might have appeared to have been lost, but as gas and electric hobs begin to find their grips on the market loosened, induction hobs have appeared as the catalyst of this slip.

Cooking purists will always hold gas hobs very close to their hearts, and it is unlikely that any other hob will ever change that easily. The traditional method of heating up a pan and cooking with it is simple, especially with the high degree of control over the heat available to the chef. However, we are living in an ever-changing world, where people are increasingly dependant on technology to make tasks more convenient. Induction hobs can do just that, especially as they are almost twice as fast as gas equivalents when it comes to cooking. Speed has been king for a long time, in many different aspects of everyday life, and now there’s an improved method to allow for quicker cooking, saving more time in general life.

Induction hobs are also said to be considerably more energy efficient than gas hobs, using up to 90% of the energy produced in comparison to 55%, making them more economical. This could well be something of a false economy, seeing as the equipment required to use it is more expensive. However, as induction cooking becomes increasingly mainstream, the prices will tumble in accordance. Market experts believe that it is only a matter of time before induction hobs will begin to challenge gas hobs for market share, and over the next 5 years they expect induction hobs to double or even treble their 5-7% of the market. Just like the DVD replaced the VHS cassette, induction hobs look set to overtake and replace their gas counterparts.

As we saw with DVDs, the induction equipment is expensive in comparison to gas. In addition, regular pots and pans will not work on induction hobs. Pans made from a ferrous metal are required, in order to pass through the electro magnetic currents created by the induction hobs. Once the ferrous pan is in contact with the induction hob, heat is generated in the pan, rather than from the hob. The temperature can be controlled by adjusting the electric currents from the hob. All of this means that the hob itself won’t heat up, it will only be the pan so there are safety advantages to be had too. Do not be put off by the fact that ferrous pans are required – it just means that your pots and pans will need to be made from steel or iron, rather than traditional Pyrex or aluminium. The required equipment is readily available from both the high street and from online stores, and there are different levels of quality with a wide range of prices to suit.

The hobs themselves are also more expensive than both the traditional gas hob and standard electrical ones. However, the technology involved in using them to cook is one of the reasons why. As previously stated, the hobs themselves don’t heat up; they simply provide a source for the pan to heat up. Beneath the ceramic surface lies sophisticated set of electronics that make up the element, which in turn power a coil to produce a high frequency electromagnetic field. This action does not generate heat, but it is the circulating electric current that occurs when a ferrous object comes in to contact with it that does. As a result, even though the ferrous object will invariably transfer some heat to the cook top, it is by no means hot enough to burn, and will very quickly return to normal temperature. Temperature control during cooking is also as good as instantaneous, as it is simply a case of altering the electric current.

The future of induction hobs looks pretty secure, and could become even more readily available. Currently, German manufacturers such as AEG, Bosch and Siemens are the dominant forces in the induction hob market, and Smeg are also big players. Japanese companies are also beginning to develop induction technology that can be used with standard pots and pans, although this is probably a few years away yet, but the general consensus is that induction hobs will fall in price, and will then be much more accessible to all. The benefits of induction cooking will also become more apparent as its popularity increases with the public.

In terms of maintenance, induction hobs are much easier to clean than gas hobs. Because the heat only occurs with the pan, it means that spillages do not get baked on top. It’s also a continuous surface, so there are no obstacles to clean around. There’s no energy wastage either, as the electromagnetic field transfers its energy directly to the pan. The hobs also begin to cool down as soon as the pan is taken away, meaning that they are very safe to touch. In comparison to gas, there are no emissions, and hence no fears about any gas leaks.

Gas hobs are still very much the choice of the majority of people, but it seems that it is only a matter of time before induction equivalents will be looked upon as a serious everyday alternative to the traditional option. The evidence of the benefits are there to be seen, but change won’t happen quickly. As induction hobs gain more popularity, prices will fall, and perhaps they will become the norm. With the environment becoming a bigger issue and people’s lifestyles getting even busier, induction hobs could even be promoted by more advocates sooner rather than later.

Many new appliance part and service companies are only middle men, they don't have the parts in stock, a complete database with all part number and model numbers, and most over promise and under delivery. So what should you look for in an appliance part and service company to ensure that you are dealing with a reputable appliance part and service company and you will get the correct appliance parts fast?

If they are new, they are probably a middle man, if they are the real deal, they have probably been in business 25+ years. These are the companies you want to deal with, because in this business, you cannot last 25+ years if you don't have expert knowledge of the appliance part and service business, fast shipping and great customer service.

Once you have a response, tell them your appliance part and service model number and see how quickly they can find your specific part number, if they find it quickly and they have it in stock, they are probably experts. Ask them a few questions about appliance part and service and see what kind of responses you get, if they sound knowledgeable on the topics, you will have probably found a great company to work with!

Air Conditioning Can Help Improve Some Health Issues

Air conditioning helps improve the quality of indoor air by heating or cooling the air, along with dehumidifying and filtering it. We typically think of air conditioning as the solution to high room temperatures, and a portable room air conditioning unit is certainly capable of that. However, if you have certain health issues, a portable air conditioner can help alleviate some of the problems associated with them.

People with asthma or allergies can benefit from using a portable air conditioner in their homes. Allergies can cause your nose to run, your eyes to itch, your sinuses to become inflamed and your throat to become sore. Air conditioners that come with filters can help remove the pollen from the air, thereby lessening the problems associated with it. Pollen can enter the home through open windows, or can be brought in by pets or even on your clothes. You will feel much better if the pollen is captured in a filtration system before you breathe it in. They can also capture other particles such as mold spores, dust mites and smoke. Dehumidifiers can also reduce mold spores in the indoor air in your home, and can help allergy sufferers relieve many unpleasant symptoms.

People over the age of sixty-five need to live in an environment where the temperature is controlled, especially if they live in the Southern United States or other areas where it gets very hot during the summer months. The elderly are more prone to heat-related stress because they find it difficult to quickly adjust to temperature changes, they often have chronic medical conditions that can affect the body's temperature adjustment or are on medications that can also hamper body temperature regulation. If you are over sixty-five, one excellent way to make sure any room you are in is the correct temperature for you is by using a portable air conditioner. They come with cooling and heating capabilities, as well as dehumidifying abilities to reduce the humidity in the room air, and filtering mechanisms to reduce airborne pollutants, so that you will be comfortable inside no matter what the weather dishes up outside.

Portable room air conditioners come in different sizes, starting at 3,000 BTUs and ranging up to 14,000 BTUs. The higher the number of BTUs, the more powerful the unit is, and the greater capacity it has to cool a larger area. If you know the square feet of the room you would like to air condition, then it is an easy thing to select the unit that will best meet your specific needs. Quiet, efficient, and easy to move, portable air conditioners can help improve your indoor air quality and help you feel better.

Using Chlorine To Treat Your Water

The popularity of the technology of the new water treatment systems available for purchase has brought about new ways of cleaning water. The basics are also still as good as they ever were for treating water. Water treatments that include the use of chlorine are basic and have been used for years. It is the procedure that is mostly used for water treatment today.

Chlorine For Household Use

The amount of water that is used in most of the households today is sent to the home by local water districts that travel from one old pipe to another until it reaches your faucet. These old pipes can definitely cause the water to have many different types of microbial organisms in it. This water will be treated with chlorine to kill those organisms that can cause problems. It is designed to get rid of these problems before you get them in your glass. The local water companies really watch to see that the water stays as clean as possible.

Water being treated by chlorine is one of the oldest ways to clean the water and it also is the fastest way to get results. The water that is treated by using chlorine treatments can be tested immediately after the chlorine is added and the treatment is completed. Chlorine is also added to water to keep the iron levels down. Chlorine water treatments for iron are best for water that is obtained from a deep well. The untreated water can appear as a reddish color and it has a taste and smell of rust. Not only does it smell and taste of rust, it can also stain your clothes and any other fabric that is washed in this water. Your drinking water can taste horrible and it can also have a very unpleasant odor to it. This is why chlorine being used to treat the water is necessary and very important.

By using chlorine, the iron deposits in the water are removed. The bacteria that iron causes is also gotten rid of. These bacteria can build up and appear as a slimy substance. This slime will eventually clog up a water pipe and it may cause you to spend large amounts of money to get it clean. Chlorine in the water will help to prevent this from happening.

Chlorine For Business Use

Hotels and water parks are definitely users of chlorine in the water of their swimming pools. The sparkling water is so clear and beautiful on a hot summer day that you can not help yourself. You have to at least stick your toes in the cool clean water. the water in swimming pools can really cause bacteria of all kinds to form. it would not only be impractical but also costly to change the water in these large areas daily.

Many people can swim in these pools at any time. There is no telling what they are carrying on their bodies and what is being transferred to the water. These bacterial objects can cause diseases and also irritations of the skin. Serious health problems can also occur. This is why sanitizing them is a necessity.

It could very well take days or months for the water to be changed in the pools. Chlorine is one of the ways that the water can be sanitized properly. It will make the water clean and it acts as a disinfectant to the water. It will be very safe for diving and swimming once again.

Treating the water properly does not have to be expensive and does not need a super high tech treatment system. Chlorine is one of the very basic things that can be added to the water to treat it. Chlorine has been shown to be a safe and very effective way to treat water for any type of use.

3. Keep antiques out of direct sunlight because they may fade.
4. Do not use any harsh solvents, detergents or polishes because the chemicals may just stain it permanently.

A Primer on Alternative Power

Thanks to the advent of alternative power, no longer must we rely on depleting the planet of its natural resources, burning fossil fuels that cause pollution of the atmosphere, depletion of the ozone layer, can potentially be unstable (as in nuclear energy), and continues to increase in cost year after year. The main sources of alternative power are the following:

• energy producing crops: synthetic biofuels and direct combustion;
• wind power and power from waves and tides;
• hydroelectric (water) power;
• solar power: heat and electricity;
• heat power: from man-made and natural waste products and from the making of synthetic bio-fuels;

By definition, an energy resource is renewable if it is replaced at a rate equal to or faster than the rate at which it is consumed. Renewable energy is therefore also considered sustainable energy, since it will continue to be available in unending supply even as it’s being utilized. Renewable energy has also been given the moniker alternative energy in reference to the alternative it offers to conventional, non-renewable sources.

Renewable energy can be utilized in one of two ways:

• directly: as in water mills, windmills, solar ovens, geothermal heating;
• indirectly: using the renewable resources to create other sources of power, either as fuels (biodiesel, bioethanol, biogas) or by generating electricity (wind turbines, solar panels).

Before renewable energy replaces the conventional sources of power that we’re used to (ie. public utility grid power), it will take years of research and development, continually studying, experimenting, improving, and innovating. The study of renewable energy, its applications and repercussions is concerned with environmental, economical, social, and political factors.

The reasons for switching from conventional, non-renewable energy to renewable energy are vast and varied, and the list grows larger every day. Among them are:

• it has a small to nil environmental impact with little to no harmful emissions, as a result supporting and protecting our natural ecosystem for future generations to enjoy;
• supplementing utility power with renewable power allows you a precious and invaluable backup system in the case of emergencies such as power outages and shortages;
• once a renewable energy system is installed, the energy costs a consistent amount to use year-round – as opposed to utilities that fluctuate in price throughout the year based on seasonal as well as socio-political factors;
• it is “distributed” energy, or energy that is used in the same location where it is produced – this cuts down considerably on transportation and distribution costs;
• many local and state governments as well as the federal government offer incentives in the form of tax breaks for the production and use of renewable energies;
• if you produce more power using renewable resources than you need for your own personal use, you can actually sell that power back to the utility companies in a program called “net metering”.

To complete a truly well-rounded discussion on renewable energy, there must be equal time given to its drawbacks as to its benefits. The most prevalent concerns about the long-term viability of renewable energies are that it is extremely dependent on numerous climactic factors and that it is considered “diluted” energy in that much more is needed to generate much less power. These so-called drawbacks, however, are no reason not to continue a fervent pursuit of incorporating renewable energy usage into more and more parts of our everyday lives. They are only to keep us present to the issues we must address in order to make a widespread switch to renewable energies a viable reality.

Microwave Misconceptions

1; Microwave ovens cause impotency! This is probably the oldest wives tales about microwave ovens. The fact is that microwave ovens produce heat and this what causes a reduction in sperm count, but it is not exclusively the microwave oven that can do this as many top chefs have low sperm counts due to working in the heat of a commercial kitchen for hours every day. The problem is also compounded by wearing underwear that is to tight as well.

2; Microwave ovens cook from the inside out. This is not the case as microwave ovens deposit heat the surface of the food in much the same way as conventional ovens. The difference is that microwaves penetrate the food deeper,which is influenced by the density of the food and depends on the water content of the food. The depth of penetration is also down to the length of the microwave, with shorter microwaves penetrating deeper.

3; Microwaves blast the nutrition out of food. Microwave ovens when used properly to cook food do not change the nutritional content of foods. In fact several studies have shown that the short cooking period can actually help retain more of the nutrients in your food.

4; Microwaves do not brown food. Food brown in microwaves depending on the composition of the food for example red meats will brown in your microwave oven, some products with high water content will come out limp. With the introduction of convection microwave ovens browning is possible for all foods. Convection microwave ovens though are an expensive luxury if they are only used for reheating and thawing foods, they are designed to meals from scratch.

5; Microwave ovens cause cancer; This theory has been thrown out a regular periods over many years. There have been extensive tests on rodents and all have proved inconclusive. There appears to be no long term effects caused by microwaves and they do not cause cancer or have carsenogenic properties.

Why Portable Air Conditioners Make Sense

Portable air conditioners make a lot of sense for a variety of reasons. Let's say you live in an apartment or a rental unit. You will not want to invest in a permanent air conditioning system because you will not be able to take it with you when the day comes that you would like to move, yet you have invested a sizable amount of money in the system.

This is no problem with a portable air conditioner. You can get one that is exactly the right size for your room needs, and when you want to move you can take it along.

Portable air conditioners also help improve a room's air circulation. Another great feature to look for in a quality portable air conditioner is its ability to self-evaporate. What this means is that water from the air gets extracted by the unit during the cooling process, and the water is recycled by the system to cool off the hard-working cooling coils. This helps it work more efficiently, and improves its energy efficiency as well.

Some portable air conditioners offer several other features in addition to the all-important air cooling capability. Some offer air conditioning, dehumidifying, air cleaning, as well as a two-speed oscillating fan, and all in one small unit. Many of them have casters, which lets you roll the unit to any spot in your home you desire, and they do not need to be installed in a window. In terms of dehumidifying the area, many come with an overflow alarm for the catch bucket as well as a backup system for when the bucket is full, so there will never be any messes to deal with.

Happily, this unit is not permanently installed in a window, but instead is portable. This means anywhere you need cool air, you can now have it with ease. It makes sense to use a portable air conditioner in an apartment, or a home or office. But did you know you can also use the unit in covered outdoor situations, such as in an outdoor room, a workshop or a garage? These systems are great for vacation cabins that you visit infrequently, but when you do you want them to be comfortable in terms of the air temperature, so the portable air conditioner can be a great solution in this situation.

If you have a computer or even a server room, then you know that all of the equipment can run really hot, and it is imperative to have appropriate fans and cooling systems to keep it all from melting down. Portable air conditioners can work very well in these applications, because you can position them exactly where you need them.

Ionic Pro Air Purifier - Advanced Technology For Cleaner Air

Feeling nauseous? Do you have less energy than you used to, but can’t seem to find the reason why? The truth is, quite often our homes can be our worst enemies -- and we don’t even know it! Dirt, dust, pet dander, carpet fibers -- ever wonder where they go when you’re not vacuuming? Unfortunately, it’s doing much more than you probably think: it’s polluting your air. These impurities infiltrate the air circulating in your home, and if continually breathed in over time, they can cause serious health complications for yourself and your family. As alarming as that sounds, there is good news: Ionic Pro Air Purifiers can help make your home a clean and healthy breathing environment!

As the latest technology in air purification, the change in air quality when you install an Ionic Pro Air Purifier will be so drastic that you’ll feel a noticeable difference in your energy, health and even your overall sense of well-being! If you’re skeptical, consider this: airborne impurities are tasteless, odorless and invisible to the naked eye. Like a slow poison, air impurities can seep into your circulatory system and cause serious medical problems. Due to its high-powered purification technology, within a month of having an Ionic Pro Air Purifier installed, you will notice a difference.

Unlike other air purifiers, the Ionic Pro Air Purifier uses ion particle technology to remove impurities from your air. While other purifiers use filters that require regular replacement, an ionic purifier avoids the potential danger of forgetting to change your filter or becoming clogged, which may put your family at risk. Instead, the Ionic Pro Air Purifier’s advanced technology projects pure negative-ion particles into the air, weighing down the impurities and drawing them away from yourself and your family.

Never Change Another Filter Again!

Choosing the Right Holmes Air Purifier for You

Homes today are virtually airtight in an effort by homeowners to reduce the expenses of heating and cooling them. Most homes have air conditioners and heaters that use recycled air. This is typically fine, but there comes a point when the air can become stale and carry many particles, which are harmful.

Many consumers wish to select an air purifier that has the same standards of quality as a Holmes air purifier. Important considerations for consumers include visual appeal, noise levels, how often the filter must be changed, how long it is expected to work and how well it works. These are the major things that people are looking at when trying to decide upon the air purifier for their home.

The Department of Energy is responsible for setting standards for air filters. Many consumers prefer a HEPA filter, as they are more effective at removing a greater amount of particles from the air. The Holmes air purifier always includes a HEPA filter. Holmes air purifiers are quite popular among homeowners because they are built with a quiet motor. These are two of the most important factors that many people consider when they are looking for an air purifier.

While using an air purifier is quite effective at improving the quality of the air, there are other actions that can be taken. Other effective means include using plastic covers on mattresses to reduce the number of dust mites as well as using a good quality vacuum cleaner. Replacing a wood burning fireplace with an electric fireplace is another way to clean the air in your home.

When you are cooking, always ensure that the exhaust fan above the stove is on and that it is functioning properly to help pull the particles out of the air. Ensuring that filters in the furnace and air conditioners are changed frequently will also help the air quality in your home. Windows and doors should also remain closed as much as possible; if you wish to open them, ensure there is a screen in place to keep out the larger pieces of debris.

If you or other family members are especially sensitive to pollen or have allergies, avoid going outside unless necessary on days when the pollen count is extremely high. Using a Holmes air purifier can assist all of the other discussed methods, but should never be your only method in order to produce the best possible results. With some work, you will be breathing cleaner, healthier air in no time.

Benefits of Using an Electrostatic Air Purifier

Most homes have many different particles floating around in the air, such as pollen, pet dander and even dirt and dust. These imperfections in the air can cause huge health problems ranging from asthma to viruses and so much more. People who have the worst air conditions can even develop illness as serious as pneumonia. This is not to say that everyone will develop problems. But why would you want to risk it when the use of one simple machine will greatly reduce your risk?

There is a simple method to counteract all of the harmful particles that are in the air of your home. Simply by using an air purifier you can reduce your risk to respiratory problems as well as remove the majority of the harmful particles from your air. The most popular choice for removing the particles is the electrostatic air purifier. Electrostatic air purifiers tend to be one of the most popular choices largely due to their quiet operation, which means your house stays quiet, and still has clean, fresh air.

Peace and Quiet

Many people hesitate to purchase an air purifier because they do not wish to hear a noisy machine running continuously in the background. This is a legitimate concern by those who enjoy having a peaceful and calm home. Electrostatic air purifiers are made to operate quietly and effectively so that they do not hinder the consumer with large amounts of noise.

Filter Free

Unlike standard air purifiers, electrostatic air purifiers do not rely on standard filtration methods. Electrostatic air purifiers are designed to work without the use of messy filters that must be changed on a regular basis. Electrostatic air purifiers instead use steel rods to capture the undesirable particles in the air; this means that the rods must be cleaned. However, this is more environmentally friendly since there is nothing to throw away. Maintenance is as simple as a quick rinse to have your electrostatic air purifier working at full capacity again.

Natural Air Cleansing

Natural smelling air is a much-desired trait Some air purifiers leave the air with a strange smell; an electrostatic air purifier, however, leaves the air smelling clean and pure with no strange scents. An electrostatic air purifier accomplishes this by removing the particles and pollutants from the air, and trapping them into the steel rods that filter the air.

Many people equate clean air with a clean home. They desire to have the cleanest home possible, which includes clean, fresh air. The results of using an electrostatic air purifier is the cleanest possible air you can provide in your home, in the quietest manner possible.

Air Purifier Humidifiers - Are they Necessary?

Have you ever looked at your skin when it is exposed to dry air? Likely you will notice that your skin is dry, scratchy, cracked and itchy. Dry air can also affect the inside of your home. Dry air can make the paints on your wall chip, your furniture splinter and wall paper peel off. How to correct the problem becomes a huge issue for most homeowners when they start noticing cracking paint, splintering wood and other problems from the dry air.

Rehydrating Your Home

Correcting the damaging effects of dry air is relatively simple. It involves the use of an air purifier humidifier. An air purifier humidifier will help replace missing moisture into the air to make it much easier to breathe as well as help rejuvenate your home. With a plethora of air purifier humidier models available to help rehydrate your air, there is something that is sure to fit into your budget.

The Two Most Common Air Purifier Humidifiers

First most common air purifier humidifier is the console. This tends to be the largest machine and is designed typically for floor use only. Air purifier humidifier consoles typically come in a large decorative cabinet so that they blend into their surroundings without looking tacky. These machines are capable of humidifying several rooms at a time and require much fewer machines to handle very large areas. They also include a filter that must be changed on occasion to ensure that the air is clean in your home and the purifier is capturing the harmful particles.

The second common type of air purifier humidifier is the room version. Air purifier humidifiers for room use are designed to handle usually one room at a time, and are great if you only have a small area of your home that suffers from dry air. Many of these air purifier humidifier units can sit easily on a table, counter or shelf; they hardly do not take much space. They are much smaller, and due to the reduced size, they cannot clean as much air. Within this category of air purifier humidifiers there are two more categories: warm humidifiers and cold humidifiers. Warm humidifiers do not use filters; they use warm water to purify the air passing through instead. Cold humidifiers use filters.

Remember, while some humidity is good, too much can be a very bad thing. Ensure that your humidity levels never rise above 50% to have the best air quality possible.
